Introducing Trey Sones, a Class A PGA Teaching Professional at Whiskey Creek Country Club in Fort Myers, FL. Trey’s love for golf ignited at the young age of five, as he participated in junior tournaments across the United States before graduating from the University of Central Florida. During his college career, he proudly earned the title of a four-time Collegiate All-American, culminating in a remarkable 9th place ranking in the world as an amateur during his final year. He turned professional in 1995 and began competing in various tour events.

Throughout his journey, Trey has received guidance from prestigious mentors in the sport, including Norrie Wright, the esteemed David Leadbetter, and short game expert George Kelnhofer. He has also served as a club professional at notable venues such as The Forest Country Club and Plantation. Ultimately, Trey realized that his true passion lies in teaching golfers of all skill levels how to elevate their game. Golf truly runs deep in his veins.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy revolves around helping students understand the mechanics of the golf swing. While the swing itself is a relatively straightforward movement, consistently executing it can be quite challenging. I believe it is crucial for students to remain relaxed throughout this process.
